Here're some tips and tricks people have been e-mailing me:

# 1

Go to the QERadiant files section and go to the the gl drivers section, just download both driver packs, and stick it all into the main qerad folder... also, get the latest drivers you may have to only place certain drivers in there, you'll have to experiment... it's different for everyone then go into your registry (type regedit at the command prompt), go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then to SOFTWARE... you'll see the QERad folder, delete it
That should get you going.

I think I may have found a way to shorten the process of editing, or rather setting up to edit Half-Life in QERadiant. I hope you and everyone else finds it useful.

Here it is in full;

1) Copy the entire contents of the folder in which you installed QERadiant and the 147 update.

2) Put it into a NEW folder called QERadiant Half Life or anything else for that matter!, but for the purposes of this, we'll call it that.

3) Download the plugin if you haven't already. Also download the .def update from the plugin review page at QERadiant .com (Here's a link to it. It has all the entities that Worldcraft has. http://members.optusnet.com.au/~ddhall/halflife.def. Right Click and select Save Target as.. and save somewhere where you are going to remember it.

4) Here is the reasonably clever bit. BACKUP the halflife.def, entities.def, halflife.qe4, default.qe4 AND the projmap.dat and projqe4.dat to a seperate folder e.g. backups!

5) Open up the projqe4.dat file with WORDPAD or even word for windows. You can now edit the values in this file so that every time you start a new project in this version of QERadiant, everything will be setup so that you don't have to enter in all the .WAD, path settings and the entity paths every time. Also delete all the BSP menu commands at the bottom.

6) Delete the entities.def in the QHL folder and rename the halflife.def to entities.def. Same with the half-life and default.qe4s. Every time QER starts, this will be the .def it loads.

7) Also if you wanted to, you could modify the projmap.dat file so that it opened a map that only had 6 sides and a info_player_start in it. Make the room with the entity in it, save it. Locate the .map file, open it in notepad, also open the projmap.dat in notepad, delete everything in the projmap file and copy the information from the .map and enter it into the now empty projmap file and bingo! every time you start a project, a room with a player start and nothing else.
