Compiling Maps - by Tiger

How to use q2beaver

First forget the included compiler from qeradiant and use an extern compiler for your maps like q2beaver.

After the installation of q2beaver you have first to choose for what game you need it. To do this click GAME and then choose Half-Life.

Then you have to select the paths of your qcsg, qbsp2, vis and qrad (if can't find them or haven't them just download them here). But before you enter the paths make sure that your lights.rad file is in the same directory like your qrad file. Go to OPTIONS and then to PATHS and there choose the directorys of the files.

Now there are two basic ways to compile your maps, the quick compile and the final compile:

-The quick compile:

File Selection Picture
QCSG nothing
QBSP2 no T-junctions
VIS fast
QRAD nothing

-The final compile:

File Selection Picture
QCSG nothing
QBSP2 nothing
VIS nothing
QRAD extra
